Outlook picture not updating
The original intention of is that the contact pictures are being taken and updated automatically from the user’s Microsoft Account and any social network providers you are connected to such as Facebook and Linked In.As you might have noticed, you can’t add or change a contact’s picture via the website at all.
You’ll see this picture when you are connected to this person via Skype or previously via (Windows Live) Messenger. If these images were stored in a single location, this would not be a problem. But, it turns out that they are not and that the rules for how these images are synchronized across the various data stores is a little complicated.User images, Skype avatars, we have several names for them. They’re the little circular image that shows up in Skype for Business next to your name in the Contacts List. However, when I look at my Contacts on the website or in Outlook on another computer, I don’t see the contact pictures I added.
How can I get the pictures to synch to so that they look the same on all my computers and on the website?
Currently you can add contacts from Twitter, Google, Linked In and Yahoo.
Facebook integration is planned but no release date has been set for this yet.
Unfortunately, as the Social Connector in Outlook has been discontinued, you can no longer add these networks directly to Outlook via their Social Connector Providers.
When you are connecting to in Outlook via the Exchange Exchange or Exchange Active Sync (EAS) protocol, then adding a picture to a contact will allow it to sync between other Outlook clients and other mail apps that support synching contact pictures via EAS.
They seem to indicate that if you have at least visited your My Site once in the past (to get it created), that profile image changes outside of Share Point should show up in Share Point even if you don’t visit your My Site. If you want to try the Set-User Photo approach, first you need to download the Share Point Online Management Shell.
